The Harman Eye Surgery Center was opened in 1998 and is the area’s first and only independent ambulatory surgery center dedicated to eye surgery. The surgery center is Medicare-certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, and is conveniently located adjacent to Harman Eye Center’s main office in Forest. The highly trained and experienced staff is focused on your care and comfort to leave you feeling confident about your procedure. Harman Eye Center is happy to offer its patient’s access to this contemporary medical facility, which offers a safe, convenient, and affordable alternative to having your eye surgery performed at a hospital. Our medical facility includes state-of-the-art eye surgery technology and is the only practice in the region to use a VICTUS Femtosecond laser for cataract surgery and All-Laser LASIK surgery. The surgeons of Harman Eye Center have performed over 30,000 cataract surgeries, so you will be in good hands. The Harman Eye Surgery Center is an innovative facility that provides high volumes of both laser cataract and laser vision correction procedures. An expansion of the facility, including a Laser Vision Center, was completed and offers our patients LASIK services in the same building!
Procedures performed at the Harman Eye Surgery Center can be significantly lower cost than a traditional surgery setting. To make your visit as convenient as possible, we participate with most major insurance companies, including Medicare, Anthem, and Piedmont Community Health Plan. Additionally, we have convenient parking and quick check-in for surgery.
Dr. Lowder received his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, TX. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Louisville where he received the Melvyn M. Koby, MD Educational Excellence Award for graduating residents.
