Dr. Haskett – Celebrating a Legacy of Care

Dr. Haskett graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1985 and began his career practicing in Rocky Mount, South Boston, and Hurt, VA, before permanently settling in Southside Virginia in 1989. He has provided decades of dedicated care to the community through his full-time role at Harman Eye Center of South Boston, offering comprehensive eye health and vision exams, treatment of eye diseases, and the latest in lens technology.

In June 2025, Dr. Haskett will retire, closing a meaningful chapter in a remarkable career. His clinic has relocated to our new, state-of-the-art facility at:

Harman Eye Center of Halifax

Dr. Haskett and his wife, Ellen, have four children and continue to reside in the Virginia community he’s proudly served for nearly four decades. We are deeply grateful for his years of compassionate care and commitment to his patients.

  • "I received my eye care at the Amherst practice and I was pleased with my every part of my visit from scheduling my appointment all the way through to picking up my glasses. Everyone I encountered was friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted advice on my choice of glasses and the optician was so helpful in narrowing down my frame choice too."

    - Bryan, Routine eye exam and optical patient

  • “On the day of his surgery, my husband was in by 10am, out by noon and we were happily on our way home.”

    - Corene about her husband Tom, Cataract surgery patient

  • “The Harman Eye Surgery Center team was so supportive and professional that it put me at ease for my LASIK procedure. I totally trusted Dr. Harman’s experience and surgical skills and was thrilled with my outcome. One week later I had 20/20 vision. I could not have asked for the whole experience to be any better.”
