Enhance your natural beauty, vision, and comfort by contacting your ophthalmologist.

Wrinkles, puffiness, and loose skin can make us look tired, and thicker lenses or bifocals continually remind us of our age. With common procedures like blepharoplasty, Botox® injections, and LASIK eye surgery you can restore your youthful glow by smoothing your aging lines and enhancing your vision. Other cosmetic options can help lessen eyelid droopiness, tighten the skin around upper eyelids, minimize eye puffiness, and generate eyelash growth.

What are the common treatments and products used to help reduce signs of aging around my eyes?

When it comes to reducing aging lines around your eyes, there are several common treatments and procedures. Depending on the specific areas you would like to address and your medical history, your ophthalmologist will make treatment recommendations.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fatty tissues surrounding the eye. It is usually performed on an outpatient basis. Results from blepharoplasty can be quite dramatic, however, the final outcome depends on the reconstructive work required, your skin structure and age, and the healing process.

Botox® is a nonsurgical treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe aging lines. It involves small injections and yields results within days. Botox generally lasts up to four months.

Juvéderm® is an injectable gel made of a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps add volume and hydration. The Juvéderm® injection is used to restore your skin’s volume and smooth away folds and wrinkles. Typically the treatment takes 15 minutes and lasts up to one year.

Latisse® is a prescription treatment that generates eyelash growth. The topical is applied daily to the base of your upper eyelashes. The active ingredient, bimatoprost, prolongs the growth phase. This extension in the growing phase gives your eyelashes more time to grow longer, thicker, and darker.

LASIK is an elective procedure intended to reduce a person’s dependency on glasses and contact lenses. This affordable alternative to wearing glasses will free you of the hassles that come with corrective eyewear.
