David M. Harman, M.D.

Dr. David M. Harman is the founder of Atlantic Vision Partners, Harman Eye Center, and Medical Director of Harman Eye Surgery Center. He earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Georgia, where he served as Chief Resident.

Board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Harman specializes in cataract and refractive surgery. Since establishing his practice in Lynchburg in 1988, he has performed over 40,000 cataract surgeries and 8,000 refractive procedures.

He is an active member of several professional societies and currently serves as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at UVA. Dr. Harman has also authored peer-reviewed publications and invented surgical instruments used in eye care.
